Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, were going to be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader, a wheel mount roof bike rack with part number Y02103. With our Yakima Q-tower roof rack system already installed on the Avenger, were going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, well want the double leg side of our clamp in the front of our bar, and the single leg portion of our clamp behind the bar. Well then tighten the black T-handle located here on the front to secure our clamp around our bar. With the front secured, well move to the rear. Here well loosen the black T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the slot, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert our T-bolt and tighten it down with the black T-handle. With our rack secured to our vehicle, its now time to load our bike. more

Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift, a Fork Mount Roof Bike Rack with part # Y02098. With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System already installed on the Avenger, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our cross bars. Here at front, we're going to remove the skewer, and slide back the black plastic cover. This will give us access to the T handle that will loosen enough to remove the T bolt from the lower half of the clamp. We'll then bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert the T bolt and tighten it down with the T handle. Once we have it secure, we'll slide our black plastic cover forward, then we can reinsert our front skewer. We'll now move to the rear where we're going to loosen the T handle, remove the T bolt from the slot and the clamp, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert the T bolt into the appropriate slot, and tighten it using the T handle. With our rack secured to our vehicle, it's now time to load our bike. We'll undo the rear wheel strap, then make sure our front skewer is open and loose. more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Upright, a roof bike rack with part number S64720. With our Yakima Q Towers roof rack system already installed on the Avenger, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, we'll bring a metal U bolt around the underside of our crossbar, fit it through the head of the carrier, and secure it with 2 wing nuts. We'll repeat that same process on the other side of the front, and then, we can tighten down all 4 wing nuts to secure out front to our bar. We'll now move to the rear. Here at the rear, we're going to place a U bolt down through the rack. We'll be sure that it comes out on both sides of our crossbar. We can slip on the metal plate and then hold this in place with the 2 wing nuts. We'll tighten these down to secure our rack. With both of them secure, it's time to load our bike. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number S64710. With our Rhino Rack 2500 Series roof rack system already installed on the Avenger, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll bring 2 of the U bolts around the underside of our bar, fit it through the head of our carrier, and hold them in place with 2 wing nuts on each one. We'll tighten them down to secure the front of our rack to our crossbars. With the front secure, we'll move to the rear. Here at the rear, we're going to bring a U bolt through the rack, being sure that it comes out on both sides of our bar. We'll bring the metal bracket around the underside of our bar and fit the U bolt through it and secure this in place using 2 wing nuts. We'll tighten these down to secure the rear of our rack to our crossbars. We're now ready to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing the rear wheel strap and making sure that our skewer is loose and open. more

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, were going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number RKY1011. With our Rhino Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack already installed on the Avenger, well being our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our load bars. When we do this, we want to bring our black rubber coated straps around the underside of our front crossbar. Well then remove the black plastic cover, bring those straps around, fit them into the head of the carrier and we can secure it by tightening down the Allen Bolt. With this secure, well replace the black plastic cover. Then, we can move to our rear clamp. Here, well remove one of the Allen bolts completely from the clamp, bring it around our crossbar, reinsert our Allen bolt and tighten both of our Allen bolts down to secure it to our rack. With our rack secure, its time to load our bike. Were going to undue the rear wheel strap and make sure that our front skewer is loose and open. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we'll be test fitting the Kuat Trio, a fork-mounted roof bike-rack, with part number RU01. With our Rhino Rack 2500 series roof rack already installed on our Avenger, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our cross bars. Here at the head of our rack, we'll bring the two black, rubber-coated U bolts around the underside of our cross bar, fit them through the head of our carrier, and hold them in place using two cylinder nuts on each one. We can then take our provided allen key and tighten these down. With our front secure, we'll move to the rear. Here we're going to completely remove one of the wing nuts, bring our clamp around our bar, replace our wing nut, and tighten both of them down. With our rack secured to our vehicle, it's now time to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing our rear wheel strap and making sure that our front skewer is loose and open. We'll grab our bike, place our bike onto our rack. more

With the factory roof rack on our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing our pitchfork directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, well go ahead and remove our black plastic cover, bring our straps around our front bar, and fit them back into the head of our carrier. Well then use an Allen key to tighten our Allen bolt which will tighten our straps around our bar. Once we have that tight, we can replace our black plastic cover.Here at the rear, well loosen up our Allen bolts to bring our rear clamp around our rear bar. Well feed the Allen bolt back through and tighten in place using an Allen key. more

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be testing fitting the Kuat-Trio roof mounted bike rack, part number RU01. With the factory roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Trio directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front we'll take our U-bolts, bring them round the underside of our front crossbar fitting them back up through the front of our bike rack. We'll take our nuts and tighten them on the ends of the bolts. Now we'll repeat this process for the other U-bolt at the front of our bike rack. We'll take the included tool to tighten down each nut on our two U-bolts. With the front and rear secure, we can go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap and make sure our skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab our bike and place it onto the Trio, dropping our front forks down onto the skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening the skewer and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap. With the bike all loaded up, we're ready to go. That completes today's test fit of the Kuat-Trio roof mounted bike rack, part number RU01 on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. . more

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test-fitting the Rocky Mountain Tierod Stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1011. With the factory roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the tierod stretchdirectly on to our crossbars. We'll remove the black plastic cover, and bring our straps around the front bar, fitting them back into the head of the carrier. We'll then use an allen key to tighten the allen bolt which will tighten our straps around our front bar. We can reinstall our skewer, and move to the rear. We'll loosen up our allen bolts to bring our rear clamp around our rear bar. We'll reinsert the leading allen bolt, and secure it by tightening down with an allen key. With the front and rear secure, we can go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap, and make sure our skewerat the front is loose. We'll grab our bike, and place it on our bike rack, dropping our front forks down on our skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening our skewer, and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap. With our bike all loaded up, we're ready to go. That concludes today's test fit of the Rocky Mountain Tierod Stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1011 on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. . more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Journey

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64720. With the Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier up onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll then pull out our hardware and bring the silver brackets around the underside of the front bar, up through the pre-drilled holes in the front platform. We'll then take our black wing nuts that thread onto the silver brackets and tighten them down, securing the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. With this done, we can then move to the rear and take our last silver bracket to slide down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack. We can then take the black plate to go up against the underside of the rear bar, then using our wing nuts to thread onto the silver brackets to tighten it down. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll double check to make sure our frame hook is loose and that our front and rear strap are undone. We'll place our bike up onto the bike rack, bringing the frame hook up on the underside of the bottom portion of the frame, being careful as it may be difficult to maneuver it around this bracket as well as the pedals. With the frame hook in place, we can then turn the black knob to tighten it down, securing the front and rear tire with the red straps. more

We can then install the black metal bracket and secure it with two wing nuts. We'll go ahead and undo the wheel strap and make sure the skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab out bike and place it onto our carrier. We'll secure the bike first here at the front by dropping the forks down onto the skewer and tightening the skewer. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey we'll be test fitting the SportRack frame-mounted roof bike rack, part number SR4611. With the Thule Rapid CrossRoads roof rack system onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll bring the rubber-coated brackets around the underside of the front bar up to the pre-drilled holes of the front platform. We'll then thread on our wing nuts onto the bracket and tighten them down, securing the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. Moving to the rear, we'll insert the black thick spacer in between the bar and the bike rack. We'll take our black bolts to slide down through the holes and take the rubber-coated steel plate to go on the underside of the rear bar, allowing the two black bolts to fit into the holes. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we'll be test fitting the SportRack Roof Mounted Fork Mounted bike rack, part number SR4622. With the Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack system assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll bring the rubber-coated black brackets around the underside of the front bar, up through the pre-drilled holes of the front platform. We'll then take our black wing nuts that thread onto the black brackets, securing the front part of the bike rack to thefront bar. Next, moving to the rear, we'll slide the black bolts through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack, taking the rubber-coated steel plate around the underside of the bar and installing our wing nuts. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll double check to make sure the skewer is loose at the front, and we'll undo the strap at the rear. We'll place our bike up onto the bike rack, sliding the forks down onto the skewer. We can then adjust the skewer and clamp it down, securing the back tire with the wheel strap. With our bike all loaded up, that'll be complete today's test fit for this SportRack Roof Mounted Fork Mount bike rack, part number SR4622, on our 2014 Dodge Journey. more

Well then place the head of the carrier on the front crossbar, and turn the black t-handle to pinch the two brackets on the front crossbar. Well then bring the back bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar, and insert the t-bolt into the bracket, and turn the black wing nut to tighten it down. Once both sets of brackets are tightened down were ready to load up our bike. Well undo the rear tray strap and bring the front part of the wheel hook out. more

We'll then replace the skewer, and we're ready to load our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan well be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number th513. Now with our vehicle already equipped with a factory roof rack system, well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles crossbars. Note that you cannot access the front two Allen bolts without first removing the skewer. Well then use the Allen key to loosen up the Allen bolts on the front and rear of the carrier. Once the Allen bolts are loosened up we can then bring the brackets around the front and rear crossbar and use the Allen key to tighten them down and secure the carrier to the vehicles crossbars. Once the carrier is secured and tightened down were ready to load up our bike. more

Well then use the Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts to secure the carrier to the vehicle. Once the carrier is secured to the vehicle, were ready to load our bike. Well replace the black plastic cap at the head of the carrier and make sure our skewer is loosened up. more

Today on our 2012 Dodge Charger we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Roof Mounted Wheel Mounted Bike Carrier, part number y02103. Now with our roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto our crossbars. We'll slide the head of the carrier onto the front crossbar and turn the oversized black T-handle to tighten down the front of the carrier to the front crossbar.We'll then loosen up the black T-handle to bring the rear bracket around the rear crossbar. We'll insert our silver T-bolt into the bracket and turn the black wing nut to tighten down the bracket to the rear crossbar. Once everything all is tightened down and secured we're ready to load up our bike.We'll extend the front part of the wheel clamp and undo the tray strap. We'll place our bike onto the carrier and roll the bike forward bringing the back part of the wheel clamp up behind the front tire. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Dart we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Roof Mounted Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number y02103. Now with the Yakima Round Bar Roof Racking System already assembled onto our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the FrontLoader onto the vehicle's crossbars. Well slide the front part of the carrier onto the front crossbar and tighten it down with the T-handle securing the front of the carrier to the front crossbar.We'll then bring the rear bracket around the rear crossbar, insert the T-bolt into the bracket and turn the black wing nut to tighten it down to secure the rear bracket to the rear crossbar. Now with the carrier secured to the vehicle we're ready to load up our bike. We'll unfold the first part of the wheel hook and undo the tray straps.We'll place the bike onto the carrier rolling it forward bringing the back part of the wheel hook onto the rear tire. We'll then tighten down the red knob pinching the wheel hooks together securing the front tire and then we'll move to the rear of the carrier securing the back tire with the tray strap.That completes today's test fit for the Yakima FrontLoader Roof Mounted Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number y02103 on our 2013 Dodge Dart. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Dart we'll be test fitting the Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number y02098. Now with our Yakima Round Bar Roof Rack System already assembled on our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's crossbars. In no specific order we'll loosen up the brackets on the front and rear of the carrier to bring around the front and rear crossbar.We'll loosen up the black wing nuts to position the T-bolts into the brackets and tighten them down. Note that depending on the thickness of your vehicle's crossbars you may need to position the brackets accordingly. Once we have the carrier tightened down we can remove the skewer to slide the black plastic cap up behind the black T-handle at the front of the carrier and slide the skewer back through it.Now with the carrier secured to our vehicle we're ready to load our bike. We'll loosen up the skewer and undo the tray strap at the rear. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Dart well be test fitting the Thule Domestique roof-mounted, fork mount bike carrier, part number TH513. Now, with our vehicle already equipped with the Thule AeroBlade roof racking system well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles loadbars. We will then loosen up the Allen bolts at the head of the carrier. Quick tech tip that in order to access the two front Allen bolts you will first need to remove the skewer. Well then bring the front bracket around the front loadbar as well as loosening up the Allen bolt at the rear of the carrier to bring the rear bracket around the rear loadbar. Well then use the Allen key to tighten the Allen bolts to secure the front of the carrier to the vehicles loadbar. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Dart well be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch roof-mounted bike carrier, part number RKY1011. With our vehicle already equipped with a roof rack system well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles crossbars. We will remove the black plastic cap at the head of the carrier to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar. Well then loosen up the Allen bolts at the rear of the carrier to bring the rear bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar. Well then reinsert them and tighten them down. Well then move back up to the front of the carrier where we will replace the straps in the head of the carrier and tighten down the silver bolt securing the front of the carrier to the front crossbar. more

Today, on our 2013 Dodge Dart, we'll be test-fitting the RockyMounts tie-rod roof-mounted bike carrier, part number RKY1014. Now, with our vehicle already equipped with the roof rack system, we'll begin our test-fit by placing the carrier off of the vehicle's crossbars. We'll remove the black plastic cap at the head of the carrier to bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the crossbar.We'll then loosen up the Allen bolts at the rear of the carrier to bring the bracket on the rear crossbar. We'll then tighten down and then move back up to the front of the carrier where we will put the straps back into the head of the carrier and, with a wrench, turn the silver bolt to tighten down the straps at the front cross bar.Now, with the carrier secure to the vehicle, were ready to load up our bike. We'll replace the black plastic cap and make sure the skewers loosened up. We'll then loosen up the tray strap, place our bike onto the carrier, slide the forks unto the skewer and secure them, finally securing the back tie with the rear tray strap. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Dodge Ram

Today on our 2013 Dodge Ram pick-up truck 1500 we are going to be testing the Yakima FrontLoader roof mounted bike carrier for part number Y02103. To mount this bike rack up on top of our vehicle, we are going to set it on top of the front cross bars. Well use the hand knob on the front of the bike rack to tighten down the front clamp around the cross bar. In the rear, we are going to use the wing nut, T-Bolt and the clamp to secure the rear half of the bike rack around our rear bar. With both clamps secure our bike rack is mounted and were ready to load up. To load our bike the first thing we need to do is open up the front wheel hoop all the way. more

Today on our 2012 Dodge Durango we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique fork mount roof mounted carrier, part number TH513. Now this vehicle is equipped with factory installed cross bars so to begin our test fit we'll sit the carrier onto the vehicle and loosen up the front and rear sets of bracket to swing on the underside of the cross bar. Then use the included Allen key to tighten it down and secure the carrier to the vehicle. Note that you cannot access the Allen bolts without removing the skewer in the front part of the carrier. Now with the carrier secured to the vehicle we're ready to load our bike. We'll undo the cradle strap, slide the skewer to the front part of the carrier, and sit our bike onto the carrier. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey well be test fitting the Thule Domestique Fork Mount Bike Carrier, part number TH513. To mount our carrier to the vehicle well set it up on top or our load bars. Well fit the front clamp around our front bar and use an Allen key to tighten down the two Allen head bolts. At the back, well fit the clamp around the underside of our rear bar and again, use an Allen key to tighten the clamp around the bar. Then we can reinstall our skewer. Now we can go ahead and grab our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey well be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. To mount our carrier to the vehicle well set it up on top of our load bars. Well situate the head of the carrier over our front bar and feed the rubber coated steel straps around the bar and back into the head. Well then use an Allen key to tighten the straps down and then we can reinstall our cover. Before we move to the rear attachment point we want to make sure that our skewer is unlocked and open here at the front. At the back, well fit the clamp around our rear bar and use the wing nuts to tighten down the clamp onto the tube bolts. more
